Considerations

There are a number of questions you need to ask yourself, before you take the step of purchasing property in another country, as these may affect your decision regarding location, type of property and required facilities. The most fundamental one really is "Why are you looking to buy this property?". Consider:

Will this property become your permanent home?
- Are you retiring and taking the opportunity to move to a nicer climate?
- Will this be for a family with children?
Are you looking for a holiday home, with the possibility of occasionally renting?
Is this an investment property, so you need to maximise your return and, maybe, use it for your own holiday during off peak times?

Moving Permanently To spain

Spain has proven a popular destination for retirees. The pleasant summers and mild winters can only be beneficial to a number of ailments. We are also seeing young families taking the decision to move to this beautiful area with it's better climate and relaxed life-style. Things to consider are:

Are the transport links good enough?
Can you pursue your career of hobbies effectively?
How good are the schools in the area, and do they have any experience with ex-pat children?
What about the local amenities, including shopping alternatives?
Will you have any medical requirements that will need to be met? What are the local medical facilities like, and how far are the hospitals?
Will you be able to easily keep in touch with friends and family back in the UK?
